Livi's newest gallery opens

LIVINGSTON'S newest gallery was officially opened on Friday, July 28, by Miss West Lothian, Leigh Gapinski.

The Knight Shades Gallery, at Young Street West Calder, is run by the proprietor of Knight Shades Blinds, Martin Sweeny, who has now decided to combine business with pleasure.

Martin took up photography as a hobby just a few years ago. But he soon discovered he had an eye for a picture and before long his photographs were in great demand.

Realising that he had a bit of extra space in his blind making workshop, he decided to convert it into a gallery.

And within the first few days of opening, Martin has already had requests for a number of his pictures, many of which are well known Scottish scenes and landmarks.

Martin has also donated a beautiful framed picture of the Forth Road Bridge to help raise funds for Livingston FC under 19s.
