How do you operate a Top-Hung Velux blind?

Ensure the window is fully closed, then:

  • Open the handle up, but don’t push out

  • Pull the vent bar down fully, until the sash is fully rotated at 180°

  • Secure the position by sliding the barrel bolts into the holes at either side of the bottom of the frame.

When Velux blinds are installed what do I need to be aware of?

You need to be aware of the different kinds of roof materials. Velux Flashings are compatible with virtually any type of roofing material from standard covers such as slate and tile, to corrugated sheeting or even thatch. There are also different Velux Flashings to allow either a standard or recessed installation into the various roofing materials.

How do you clean Velux blinds?

You have a few options:

  • Dusting: regular dusting will maintain a like-new appearance of most blinds & shading

  • Vacuuming: vacuum gently with a brush attachment of any vacuum cleaner to take away anything on the surface of the blind

  • Spot-Cleaning: spot-clean blinds with a soft cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water.
