Choosing the Right Bedroom Blinds

Are you sick of your curtains? Perhaps you're thinking about changing to blinds rather than have window shutters, and if you do, it'll be by far the best choice for your windows!

Bedroom blinds are perfect if you like to have a little more control over how much light you allow into your bedroom. Bedroom blinds are a perfect solution to this problem because you can choose from a variety of different styles and textures, leaving your bedroom with stylish window coverings. As well as this, you also get complete control over how much light you allow in, so you and your partner can get a restful night's sleep.

Bedroom Blackout Blinds

You may be one of those people that prefer your bedroom completely dark at night, and curtains just aren't cutting the light enough. This is because no matter how well fitted your curtains are to the window, a chink of light can enter from either the top, the middle, or the bottom, leaving you with disturbed sleep.

Bedroom blinds are fitted to your window after they've been carefully measured. This means there is less chance of light escaping through, so once you've closed them you'll have a much darker room.

Blackout Blinds Fabric

Blackout fabric is a really good choice for the bedroom if you want to guarantee that light doesn't escape through the window. It's also good at blocking out light during the day as well, especially useful if you work night shifts and want to get to sleep during the day.

Blackout fabric is also a great idea if you have young children and they will help you to keep them in bed that bit longer past the dawn chorus!

Performance Blinds/Fabrics

There's also a range of performance blinds which can even regulate the temperature of a bedroom, helping to keep the room warm, while at the same time saving you on heating bills.

As well as blackout and performance blinds, there is a variety of different styles of blind to help keep your bedroom stylish as well as serving your nocturnal needs.

Types of Bedroom Blinds

Vertical blinds offer you the opportunity to control light and privacy by giving your window blades that rotate and slide to one side. You can have blackout fabric for vertical blinds too so you have a nice dark room at night.

Roller blinds are a stylish choice for any window, and will look equally good in your bedroom, choose one roller blind, or perhaps even two. You can have them in different fabrics, perhaps one with light fabric so you can have a lighter room during the day with a lightened roller blind or solar roller, and then a roller blackout blind for night time.

Roman blinds are the popular stylish blind of choice for many. And it's easy to see why, as they are so elegant, and with a range of fabrics and colours, your bedroom will be beautifully stylish, again with the option of performance fabrics. However, they are slightly more restrictive in terms of light and privacy, as they will only go up or down, but it really depends on your personal tastes and what kind of performance you want from your blinds.

Roller blinds are another great choice of bedroom blind, again with plenty of choice with regards to colour or style, and a range of performance fabrics that can keep your room warm and dark at night.
